Vision Board Workshop with Melissa Porter
RegisterJoin collage artist Melissa Porter for a transformative Vision Board Workshop on January 25th at Auric Gallery.
A vision board is a collage made up of visual images, symbols, or words that encapsulate the life you aspire to lead, similar to a dream board. Picture traditional magazine cutouts arranged on a bulletin board; this represents a tangible declaration of your desires. The concept of vision boards gained popularity through the 2006 book “The Secret,” where they were introduced as a tool for manifesting dreams and engaging the subconscious mind effectively.
In this workshop, you'll discover the power of vision boards as effective tools for clarifying your goals and directing your energy. A vision board serves as a visual reminder, guiding your thoughts and actions toward what you aspire to achieve. To maximize the effectiveness of your board, it's crucial that it remains visually appealing, as this enhances its role as a motivational touchstone.
We'll explore various design aesthetics, the impact of color, and effective collage techniques to help you craft a vision board that is not only relatable but also eye-catching. Using mixed media, collage images, and symbols, you will create a personalized vision board during this three-hour session. All necessary materials and supplies will be provided, giving you everything you need to bring your vision to life. This includes collage elements, drawing tools, a board, adhesives, brushes, and plenty of encouragement to help you think big.
This workshop aims to create a safe and inspiring environment where your imagination can flourish and your creativity can take flight.
You are also encouraged to bring any personal materials or tools you might wish to incorporate.
Regardless of what you aim to accomplish, a vision board can assist in achieving your goals—provided you actively engage with it. Its purpose is to help you remember what is truly significant, especially during times when you might lose sight of it.
*Supplies are included, but you are welcomed and encouraged to bring any materials or favorite tools you have on hand.
When: January 24th, 3-6pm
Where: Auric Gallery, 125 E Boulder Street, CSC 80903
Cost: $95 -
