Collection: Kristy Kensinger

Colorado-based artist Kristy Kensinger paints a variety of subject matters in various mediums finding it difficult to stick to just one genre. Her work is expressive and includes paintings, drawings, and prints. In addition to creating art she loves to share what she learns through art classes and workshops. One of her favorite creative outlets beyond painting and teaching is to curate a class or collection from start to finish. “I love to take an idea and bring it to life. There is an eclectic process I follow to bring my idea into form. I love to get tactile by gathering textiles, scraps, patterns, and imagery creating color palettes and a specific style for a project. The process is so invigorating to my creativity.”

Kristy grew up in Colorado and fell in love with the proximity to nature. Nature, travel, and experiences often seep into her work and teachings. She attended the University of Colorado graduating with a double major in Fine Arts & Art History with an emphasis in digital arts. Upon graduating, she pursued a career in graphic design for 15 years. Excited to get back to working with her hands, she transitioned back to the arts. She works in her home studio tucked in a storybook home surrounded by trails, pines and the life and energy of her family.
