Collection: Greg Johnson - Artifact

Artifact is an exhibit of layered ideas and a process, transforming an idea into a physical representation of that idea is what gives me the most enjoyment.

Some compositions may be interpreted the same by multiple observers due to the fact they are more representational of a recognizable concept. Some are more abstract and allow different translations.

This exhibit has allowed me to prototype a new personally expressive process that will evolve as time goes by.

I am combining aspects of architecture, landscape, abstract, and representational form.

Aluminum is durable and provides a visual mass without adding unmanageable weight. Its natural color and materiality allow the form to be the focus.

For future compositions or series, the finish options are abundant and include powder coating, anodizing, or even plating.

The material may even lead to some of these works to be actual archeological artifacts one day, if not recycled into beer cans.
