Encaustic Workshop with Shannon Mello
RegisterEncaustic painting is a process of painting using beeswax and tree resin, and melting it into layers.
In this four hour session, students will learn and expand on encaustic basics. Students will experiment with encaustic paint, embed materials, shellac burn, and create layers to include oil paint and gold leafing. Students will walk away with a practice piece, a 6”x6” panel, and an 8”x8” cradled panel ready to hang.
Prior experience with encaustic basics is not required. Come ready to get messy and creative. Looking forward to sharing my passion with you!
All supplies are included. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy in, bring your own drink of choice and Shannon will supply some light snacks.

Non Book Club Book Club
FOR MORE INFORMATION(NBCBC) is a group of Colorado Springs based Artists, Musicians, Poets, Filmakers, Chefs, Nerds, Weirdo's, etc. whose goal is to meet monthly to share and communicate ideas; by swapping books, articles, web links, play lists and experiences.
This event was created in order to break down the traditional ideas of learning found in school systems while also bridging art cliques in COS.
We feel the most important information out there is what individuals curate into their own lives. We want to create and aid in the construction of safe places for open discussion and free expression.
NBCBC meets at Auric Gallery on the 3rd Sunday of every month at 7pm.
